Values & Vision

Mission and Values

Our school values and vision are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

We Live by respecting ourselves and others; fully enjoying a life of opportunity where we can reach our potential.

We Love knowing that God loves us; serving the needs of others in a changing and challenging world.

We Learn by supporting and encouraging each other to do our best in all things and celebrate everything we achieve.

Our Motto:
Giving Ourselves to God through…

Living, Loving and Learning.

Our Mission Statement:
We welcome all children to engage in a Christ-centred curriculum, with the aspiration of forming compassionate, enlightened, faithful and active members of modern society; who give themselves to God, as he gave himself to us.

Our Mission Statement forms the foundation for three key purposes in all that we do:

To achieve personal growth by:
• Fostering virtues that enable children to reach high aspirations, develop healthy self-confidence, and cultivate self-esteem
• Instilling a steadfast quest for truth that encourages an open mind, the ability to evaluate wisely, and to make choices based on the highest values
• Encouraging a thirst for learning and an understanding that it is a lifelong journey, guided by the spirit and presence of Christ, in service to God and others

To encourage inter-personal relationships that:
• Value the diverse gifts, qualities, and contributions of each individual
• Celebrate the achievements of both individuals and the whole community
• Foster mutual respect between all, regardless of age, gender, race, ability, or role
• Appreciate the various communities to which we belong: family, school, parish, local community, and the wider national and international communities
• Motivate each individual to take an active role in these communities

To develop and maintain a constant sense of:
• Being created by God for a unique purpose
• Wonder in discovery
• Fulfilment and reward in learning and achievement
• Deep satisfaction in balancing dynamic creativity with reflective thought

Our School Prayer Commitment

At St Robert Southwell Catholic Primary School, our values of Live, Love, and Learn are at the heart of everything we do, shaping how we nurture the faith of our pupils and school community. Prayer and liturgy are central to this mission, providing moments of reflection, celebration, and encounter with God in our daily lives.

Our Commitment:

We Live our faith by creating a prayerful environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to grow spiritually. Through daily prayer, collective worship, and reflection, we foster respect for ourselves, each other, and God’s presence in our lives.

We Love as Jesus taught us, knowing that God’s love surrounds us. We lead and participate in meaningful liturgies, guiding children in acts of service, kindness, and compassion, ensuring they recognise their role in a changing and challenging world.

We Learn through scripture, prayer, and worship, deepening our understanding of God’s word. We support and encourage one another to develop a lifelong faith journey, celebrating achievements in spiritual growth as much as academic success.

Through our shared dedication to Prayer and Liturgy, we strengthen our school as a community of faith, love, and learning, ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow in confidence, joy, and faith.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God,

Teach us to walk in your way more trustfully,

To accept your truth more faithfully

And share your life more lovingly.

By the power of the Holy Spirit

Help us in our work for our school,

So that we may come as one family

To the kingdom of the Father,

Where you live forever and ever.

Amen.
