St Robert Southwell is a Catholic, Voluntary Aided Primary school in the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton. We serve the parish of St John the Evangelist in Horsham. The Governors aim to offer a distinctively Catholic education for children from 4 years to 11 years of age. They expect parents to uphold the Catholic character and ethos of the school. These expectations are reflected in our Admissions Policy, which gives full details of the criteria we apply when admitting children into the school.
Admission Arrangements for Reception Class 2020-21
The application round for September 2021 opens on 5th October 2020 (WSCC online portal). All applications must be received by 15th January 2021. Parents and carers will be informed of their child's school placement in April 2021.
As a Catholic School we also have a Supplementary Information Form (SIF). All applicants are asked to use this form. We can send it to you or you can download it at the bottom of this page.
Timetable for Reception Class Appeals 2021
Parents who have applied for a place in the current admission round will be notified of the decision by the County Council around 16th April 2021. Parents who have been refused a school place for their child at St Robert Southwell, who wish to appeal against the decision, must do so before 20th May 2021. WSCC will notify parents of an appeal hearing date within ten days of receiving an appeal request. An appeal will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal closing date and will be heard before 20th July 2021.

In Year Admissions
The over-subscription criteria in the Admissions Policy will also apply to applications made outside the normal age of entry to primary education (Reception Year) i.e. in succeeding years or during the academic year.
