Friends (PTA)

Welcome to the Friends page!

We exist to promote the welfare of the children of St Robert Southwell Catholic School. We support the school’s staff by working with them to further their vision for the school. We raise funds through planned events and activities to provide the children with educational and recreational benefits and for specific projects to support the school.

We hold monthly committee meetings, which the whole school community (and wider family members) are welcome to attend.  Here we discuss fundraising ideas, financial updates and other relevant matters.  Our annual AGM takes place in October each year.

The Friends Committee for 2021/22 is made up of:

Lynsey Richardson - Chair

Hi, I'm Lynsey, and I have been a member of the PTA since my eldest joined the school four years ago, taking on the role of chair in 2020, having previously been co-Chair. I have two children at the school: April in Bethany (Y4) and Rory in Nazareth (Y1).

I chair most of the PTA meetings and work with the rest of the team and the Head to make sure we are running great events which raise much needed funds for the school. You will often find me around the school, either doing PTA duties or volunteering within the school.

Michaela Sargeant – Vice-Chair / Treasurer

I'm Michaela and I am Treasurer and Vice Chair of FOSRSS. I have two daughters currently at the school and they love it at St Roberts. I work as a family lawyer and I'm married to Luke. I am very involved with a church in Horsham (Lifespring) and I enjoy reading, writing, playing music and spending quality time with friends and family.

Sarah Ward – Secretary

I'm Sarah and I am the secretary of the PTA. My son Freddie is in Y3 Jericho. I have also been a class Rep since my son started school in September 2019. I wanted to join the PTA to help the school to fundraise and be a part of my son's school. I thrive on being organised and love a cake sale!

I work as a midday meals supervisor (5 days) and Teaching Assistant (2 full days and 3 afternoons) for Northolmes School; any remaining time I am looking into new fundraising ideas for the Friends and spending time walking, reading and listening to music.

Anna Fox – Committee Member

Hi, I'm Anna. My daughter Anya is in Y3 at St Roberts and absolutely loves going to school to see her friends and the teachers. I have a little boy called Jack who's nearly one- he definitely keeps me busy!

I work part-time as an inclusion manager at a school in Surrey and also class teach Year 2 for half a day a week. I wish I had more time for hobbies but mostly I spend my time catching up with TV and doing not a lot! Maybe this will one day change.

Natalie Pearce – Committee Member

Hi, I'm Natalie- my son Harry is in Nazareth Class and my baby boy Charlie is a future pupil! I am a Detective Inspector in Surrey Police and when I am not working I'm enjoying time with family and friends or walking the dog (our Labrador Bella). I'm really excited to get stuck in and help raise funds for the school.

Becky Baldry – Committee Member

I'm Becky, and my son James is in Nazareth Class. He has a little brother, Alex, who you may see at the school gates. I work part-time in pensions consulting. Life revolves around family these days, and James' school is certainly already feeling like family, so I wanted to get involved with the fun activities and raising funds for the school. I'm one of Nazareth's class reps.

If you have any queries, or are interested in getting more involved, please email friends@strobertsouthwell.co.uk. We are always seeking volunteers to help with our various events.
